Instructor & MentorJohn Phillip Osborne is a recently retired senior instructor at the Ridgewood Art Institute and taught landscape, seascape, still life and portraiture to young people and adults there for 34 years. His teachings extended to classes outdoors or on location, year round. Under his guidance, high school and college students are now pursuing careers in the fine arts. His teaching and painting philosophy which, reflects over thirty years experience, are featured in American Artist and Palette Talk magazine cover articles.
Outdoor Classes & DemonstrationsOsborne taught various outdoor classes throughout the years and hosted weekend or week long painting trips to various locations along the east coasts such as Nantucket, the Catskill mountains and the New Jersey shore. Demonstrations were lucky to watch, how a blank canvas transformed into a memorable work of art. 2011 John P. Osborne Demonstration, (see right).
